I don't know why, but my computer won't let me upload any pictures on my blog anymore! What gives! Oh well, I was going to post pictures from the San Diego points series awards from last night and a picture of me changing my first tire - but you can just look on facebook for them!
I started this week going over next years race plan with Lipe. My three "A" races are St. George, Boise 70.3, and Vineman 70.3. Before, between, and after those races are a whole bunch of sprints and running races. I am SO excited to do Malibu, hopefully I can run next to JLo or something. Speaking of running races.. I decided to opt out of the Vegas Marathon and switch to the Half. I did San Diego Rock n Roll this past May, and while I had a lot of fun training and doing the race (until I ran the last 3 miles with just one shoe..) I was SO tired after it. For a couple of months after the race, my running felt off and I didn't have that extra "oomph" that I usually do. After talking with Lipe, I decided I didn't want to go into Ironman training tired, so I will HOPEFULLY just run a fast half. Plus, my left hip has been bothering me again, so I don't want to screw that up even more.
This past Friday, Liz and I went with Hallie to be her support crew for the Big Rock Triathlon. Constantly racing is definitely a lot of fun, but it is nice to be able to sit back and watch a friend race. Hallie KILLED it, so it was a lot of fun cheering/tormenting her when she went by. We also got to cheer for Jeanine, Robert and Erick who also did really, really well. Jeanine got 3rd OA in the sprint and 1st AG and Hallie got 3AG and 9th OA - damnnnnn ladies! If for some reason I don't end up racing a lot, I think I will be a professional cheer squad. Some of the people racing are so hilarious running to T1, "are the donuts this way?" "I thought the run was last??" To entertain ourselves, Liz and I gave the friendly cheers of "yeah sweetie pop!" "You go sweet meat, meat sweet!" Ok enough making myself laugh...
On Saturday I changed my first flat tire - by myself (almost)!!! Usually, I wait and make Richard or someone else do it, but I actually did it almost all by myself! This ride was entertaining because it is great to see how men will freak out if a girl passes them. According to Liz, one guy that we passed was standing up huffing and puffing to not let us pass him, and when we met up at a light, he had some nasty looks to give. Another guy would take off after a stoplight and I would catch up to him in about 15 seconds, and he would continually turn around to see where I was and if I were about to pass him. Calm down guys, it's just a bike ride!
The San Diego points series awards dinner was last night which was presented by Koz. It was a nice time to see other series winners and hang out with teammates. The slide show was mortifying, but whatever. Congrats to Steffany, Liz, Beth, Dave, Gary, Kathy and Joe!
Good luck to everyone doing Clearwater!!!! I'm sure you will all do great :)
