Computrainer @ Aire

This Saturday, I decided to preview the bike course of the Oceanside 70.3 on a computrainer at Aire. I definitely looked like an idiot showing up with a flat tire and needing help changing it, but I was in a rush getting there and I did have 30+ minutes to change that bad boy myself. Thank god all of the people who were there were really nice and helpful! You can never have too many tire changing lessons.. (or you could learn, but I enjoy having numerous bo-bo lessons).

Karl Coleman and Luke Walton set us up and the 8 of us were ready to go. Karl and Kent took the lead early on, but it was helpful to see when hills were coming because we were able to see their pace change drastically on the hills. Luke helped motivate us by reminding us that we were only 7 minutes into the course and we had a LONGG time to the finish. Gary and I went back and forth for a while - that man does NOT slow down even on the uphill!! I finished the course under 3 hours with the help of Karl coaching me through the last couple of miles. He has the Vineman course, so I look forward to practicing that a couple of times before July.

In other triathlon news.. my hip/hamstring/butt has been mofo killing me!!!!!!! Running has been super painful and my 90 minute run today was cut down to 67 minutes because it just hurt too bad. I always think "HTFU" to myself .. but I also want to make sure I don't really fudge this injury up before St. George. I go to a PT tomorrow again, but unfortunately it hasn't been helping. I may try accupuncture next to see if that will help.

In some "social" news, my friend Chastain was married on Friday and I had the honor to be a bridesmaid. She was a beautiful bride and the whole day was amazing. I also learned the dance to the chorus of "Bad Romance" by Lady Gaga, so if you want some lessons, I can work something out! School doesn't start up again until Jan. 25th, wooooooo hooooo. One of my best friends is coming out to visit this weekend, maybe she will enjoy the Blacks Beach workout on Sunday!! muahahahahaaha

  1. Congrats on finishing the course in under 3 - very impressive! Didn't know that you actually got to "race" everyone during the course! 1 of 27 down...speaking of which, that lovely movie was on this weekend!

  2. Too much fist-pumping can do that to your hip and hamstring. I learned the hard way that one summer in Seaside.

    Keep on keeping on.
